Let’s get real here, 90s was the era of cool. The best the world ever saw, the best the world ever had. Everything from the generation to the life in the 90s, from the music to the TV series that everyone followed in fixed time slots (without any reruns)on those big boxy television sets. Now that things have changed, there are just a few ways to remember the 90s; you can look yourself in the mirror, you can listen to some classic groovy music or you can watch the 90s show that owned our childhood. But not for long, looks like the stars are in our favour. Some of the 90s shows and movies are coming back to life, for real! Check out the list and see which one gives you the biggest grin!
#1 Star Trek
Original Series was actually aired in the 60s (1966 – 1969) but who wouldn’t want to watch Star Trek all over again? The series was based on space adventures of the crew of U.S.S. Enterprise in 23rd century where the Star Trek squad discovers new worlds and faces the problems that follow. Now that it has been 50 years that it aired, you can expect a lot that can change and has happened with them.
#2 Cruel Intentions
Released in 1999, Cruel Intentions got a lot of praise for itself. The story revolves around the rich step-siblings Kathryn (Sarah Michelle Geller) and Sebastian (Ryan Phillipe) who rule their elite private school. Things start to change when Sebastian falls for the nicest girl in the school, Annette (Reese Witherspoon).
Now how is it making a comeback? Well, nobody knew that Annette was pregnant! Well, because they never told us. But it is rumoured that the TV series will reboot form two decades after the movie and follow the story of Bash Casey, the lovechild of Sebastian and Annette.
#3 The X Files
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are hitting back the screens where they played the FBI agents Dana and Scully. The series ran from 1993 to 2002 having our heads turn with unexplained cases i.e. “The X Files”. The duo is back for a mini-series of six episodes after 20 years in which they’re going to investigate an alien abduction in post 9/11 America.
#4 My Best Friend’s Wedding
We all have loved and watched this one over and over. Julianne Potter, the character that was played by Julia Roberts, who made a pact with her best friend, Michael, that if they don’t find anyone to marry by the age of 28, they’ll marry each other. Things go a little unplanned when Michael tell Julianne that he will be marrying his 20 year old girlfriend. We won’t tell you what happens next if you haven’t watched the movie. Anyway, the reboot of the movie is actually going to be a spin-off series with all the original producers and screenwriters on board. The series will pick up from where it was ended.
#5 The Powerpuff Girls
Now who can forget three little girls saving Townsville from Mojo Jojo and other monsters? The animated series ran from 1998 – 2005. We would have never known what chemical “X’ could’ve done until it was accidentally mixed in one of Professor’s experiment. The memory of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup saving the day is still fresh! The Powerpuff Girls are coming back, sure, but they’ll be a slightly different from what we remember. They’ll look and sound a little different too.
