If like us, you find it too cold to step outdoors to do something adventurous, here’s a fix! Let actors Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Hemsworth, Felicity Jones, Mark Ruffalo and many more entertain you this month in a cosy cinema hall near you.

Michael Mann’s ‘Blackhat’ starring Chris Hemsworth, Tang Wei, Viola Davis and Holt McCallany in lead roles is all set to hit the silver screens on 16th January. This action-thriller depicts American and Chinese agencies trying to track a cyber criminal who is out to hack the international banking network.

A biographical drama, ‘Mr. Turner’ is about the life of the famous British painter J.M.W. Turner and the experiences that inspired him to paint. Featuring Timothy Spall as J.M.W. Turner along with co-stars Dorothy Atkinson, Paul Jesson, Marion Bailey, Lesley Manville and Martin Savage; the movie will be out on 16th January.

Also releasing on the same day is ‘The Imitation Game’ starring the British heartthrob Benedict Cumberbatch, Kiera Knightley, Matthew Goode and Charles Dance. This historical thriller takes inspiration from the life of British mathematician and logician Alan Turing and showcases his contribution in cracking the Enigma code during World War II.

Competing with Alan Turing’s exhilarating life story is a biographical drama inspired by physicist Stephen Hawking’s life, ‘The Theory of Everything’. Starring Eddie Raymond as Stephen Hawking with co-stars Felicity Jones, Charlie Cox and Emily Watson, this romantic-drama is also set to release on 16th January.

Adding to the list of biographical dramas set to entertain you this month is ‘Foxcatcher’ starring Steve Carell, Channing Tatum, Mark Ruffalo, and Vanessa Redgrave. The crime drama revolves around the true story of Olympic Wrestling Champion brothers Mark and Dave Schultz and their relationship with multi-millionaire John Du Pont. The movie will hit screens on 23rd January.

Hitting the screens on the same day is ‘Mortdecai’ starring Johnny Depp in a rather unusual role of an art dealer who travels the world to find a stolen painting that is believed to be hiding the code of a bank account full of Nazi gold. The movie also stars Olivia Munn, Ewan McGregor and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Releasing on 30th January is ‘Birdman’ (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). This American black comedy revolves around the story of a washed-up actor who was famous decades ago for essaying the role of the Birdman in iconic superhero blockbusters. Directed by Alejandro González Iñárritum, the movie stars Michael Keaton, Zach Galifianakis and Edward Norton.
