When it comes to big movie releases this month, Hollywood is taking the lead. That’s right, with only a couple of big Bollywood releases scheduled for March, your month ahead is going to be packed with some solid Hollywood movies. Take a look at these eleven films hitting the screens this month and what they are all about!
1. Fifty Shades of Grey – 6th March
First up is ‘Fifty shades of Grey’, the much awaited romantic flick based on British author E. L. James’ bestselling novel of the same name. The release was unfortunately (and expectedly) delayed in India due to censor board issues. But looks like 6th March will finally be the day of some steamy scenes in Indian theatres with Anastasia (Dakota Johnson) and Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan).
Run Time – 125 minutes.
2. Focus – 6th March
Releasing on the same day (after being rescheduled as well) is the American romantic dark comedy ‘Focus’ starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie as marvellous grifts who get romantically involved only to fall apart later. Things go awry when they meet again after three years realising that they are on the opposite sides in the same scam! What happens next? Find out on 6th March.
Run Time – 104 minutes.
3. Unfinished Business – 6th March
Another comedy scheduled to hit the screens on the same day is ‘Unfinished Business’. Run Time – 91 minutes.
4. In The Heart of The Sea – 13th March
Our favourite Thor is back in a new avatar with the biographical thriller ‘In The Heart of The Sea’. Starring Chris Hemsworth and Cillian Murphy, the movie’s plot dates back to the year 1820 when a New England whaling ship Essex is rammed by a mammoth-sized whale while leaving the ship’s surviving crew stranded in the middle of the sea. Things get worse with each passing day when the surviving crew is pushed to their limits to stay alive.
Run Time – 121 minutes.
5. Cinderella – 20th March
Following Disney’s animated adaptation from the 50’s, ‘Cinderella’ hits the screens on 20th March. Starring Lily James as Cinderella, Hayley Atwell and Cate Blanchett, this British/American fantasy flick perfectly depicts the magical life of Cinderella with a few twists in good ol’ fairy tale fashion.
Run Time – 112 minutes.
6. The Divergent Series: Insurgent – 20th March
The second installment of ‘Divergent trilogy’ a.k.a ‘Insurgent’ is scheduled to release on the same day. Following the events of the previous installment from the series, this sequel stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James and Octavia Spencer.

Based on Jean-Patrick Manchette’s novel ‘The Prone Gunman’, this action-thriller is slated for release on 20th March.
