Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2016 is just around the corner and we are already excited to see what it has in store. For those of you who are not familiar with the dates, it’s starting on 16th March and concluding on 20th March. The extravagant event will also be held at a new venue this time, the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Lodhi Road.
We might not know everything that is set to unfold but we do have a little piece of information that has got us jumping. Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2016 is all prepped to witness its first menswear show. Yes, you heard that right.
An eminent jury comprising designers Rohit Bal, Varun Bahl, Divyam Mehta and ace choreographer Anu Ahuja have in fact shortlisted 24 new faces, who will get an opportunity to walk the ramp for a specially curated, menswear show. This show will be presented by three young designers (names haven’t been disclosed to us yet) at the fashion week.

Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI said, “We took a leap forward and after several years held the male model auditions for India Fashion Week. There were almost 200 models, who came for the auditions. FDCI board has decided to include one or two menswear shows as part of Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2016 and going forward increase the number. The menswear show at AIFWAW16 will give male models a platform to showcase their talent.”
